Jesuit schools and the arts have a long and rich tradition. Formed at the height of the Italian renaissance and the humanistic movement, Saint Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, put special focus on "finding God in all things." Included in this were the extraordinary artistic expressions of his time. Throughout the years, Jesuits have emphasized the arts as a way of evangelization through expression. As a Jesuit school, Saint Peter's Prep values the fine and performing arts as a key component of its liberal arts curriculum.
