Prep's annual Arrupe Lecture Series returns next Wednesday. This year, a week-long summit on poverty in the United States will feature speakers, discussions and service activities, with a keynote address by nationally-known speaker Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J. The program is set for March 24 – 31.
On March 16, Prep students began the process of requesting the courses they hope to take during the 2010-2011 school year. Between now and March 24, Guidance Counselors will distribute course selection materials and explain the process to freshmen and juniors during scheduled group guidance sessions. On Monday, March 22, sophomores will receive their course selection materials during a special homeroom session.
Continuing Prep's recent trend toward developing a strong range of summer programs, Ms. Megan Klim and Mr. Nyugen Smith of the Fine Arts department have announced the Metro Arts Summer Institute, an intensive two-week studio arts program for 15 students to be selected from throughout Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties. The program has already been profiled in the Jersey City Independent.
Two to three Prep families (10-15 people total) are needed to help rebuild a Jersey City home for a family in need on Saturday, April 10.
As the 2010 Annual Fund Phonathon rolls on, we need your help! Volunteers are still needed to man the phones on March 16 and 18, as the lines will be lighting up once more in support of the Annual Fund.
